Brief History of Hope Lodge No.150 F. & A. M.
Hope Lodge No.150 F. & A. M. received a Dispensation from the Grand Lodge of Indiana on October 27, 1852 and on May 26, 1853 Hope Lodge was chartered by the Grand Lodge of Indiana.
The Lodge consisted of thirteen charter members:
Henry B. Smalley, Shepherd Freeman Eaton, James B. Johnson, Joseph C. Ardery, Henry Augustine Fetter, Allen Gallion, Edward B. Jurd, Allison Clark Remy, Moses Archer Remy, Benjamin G. Severance, David Emanuel Snyder, Joseph Utter and Nehemiah Vanskike.
The Lodge has met in eight different buildings through the years. No record exists regarding where the Lodge met for the first seven years, due to first minute book being lost in a fire.
